We are currently looking for an IT Architecture Documentation Specialist – arc42 for one of our clients.

YOUR MISSION

The project involves analyzing, updating, and specifically expanding the existing IT architecture documentation of a complex system landscape in the public sector. The focus is on structured documentation according to arc42, understandable presentation of technical contexts, and the identification and closure of existing documentation gaps.

• Project location: Hamburg
• Period: November 2, 2026, to April 30, 2027
• Work mix: 95% Remote (only possible within Germany)
• Important: Willingness for SÜ2 clearance according to § 9 SÜG (confidentiality/sabotage protection)

Responsibilities

MUST-HAVES FOR THIS POSITION

• Review and analysis of existing IT and architecture documentation, and identification of documentation gaps
• Updating, structuring, and comprehensive deepening of the architecture documentation according to arc42
• Understandable documentation of existing system architectures, components, interfaces, and data flows
• Preparation and documentation of architectural decisions already made
• Independent acquisition of missing information through coordination with business and technical contacts
• Ensuring consistent, understandable, and high-quality documentation
• Supplementing existing functional, operational, and test documentation as needed
• Demonstrable practical experience with architecture documentation according to arc42
• Extensive experience in documenting complex IT projects and system landscapes
• Sound technical understanding to independently analyze and clearly describe existing architectures, components, interfaces, and data flows
• Experience in revising and deepening existing documentation, as well as systematically identifying and closing documentation gaps
• Ability to independently gather technical and business information through discussions with relevant contacts
• Very good written German language skills and a structured, meticulous, and self-reliant way of working
• Willingness to undergo a security vetting process (SÜ2)

• Experience with functional, operational, and test documentation
• Knowledge in the Oracle environment (ODI, OAS) as well as with WebLogic and JBoss
• Experience with Confluence and Jira
• Project experience in the public sector
• Knowledge of risk analysis and rule management systems
• Existing security vetting (SÜ2)
