Java Backend Developer (Remote)

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer for a remote project with a runtime from November 2026 to March 2027. The total workload is approximately 599 hours.

Your tasks include the development, testing, and integration of complex, performance-critical software and frameworks. You will assist in locating and fixing software errors, create sub-concepts for the further development of software development processes, and lead technical project groups. Furthermore, you will support the creation of functional concepts.

We expect profound knowledge in Java backend development with at least 2 years of experience. Knowledge of Apache Kafka, Apache Cassandra, and ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level is required. Security in software development is essential, including understanding potential security risks, Secure Design Principles, and Secure Coding.

You should have in-depth knowledge (3-5 years of experience) in software design, OOA/OOD, UML, and Model Driven Architecture. Experience with relational database systems (Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL), SQL, various testing concepts, and version and configuration management (Git, SVN) is required. Knowledge of container technologies, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Nexus), and DevOps methods is advantageous.

Specialized knowledge (5+ years of experience) in J(2)EE/EJB, multi-tier applications, application servers (Oracle WebLogic, Payara), persistence layers (Hibernate, JPA), and web frameworks (Spring) is desirable. Familiarity with agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban completes the profile.

Project language is German. The fee is €80.00 per hour with a payment term of 30 days.
