Project:
ZEMIS is the Central Migration Information System of the Swiss Confederation. It covers all migration processes for federal and cantonal authorities, from asylum to residence and naturalization, and is highly interconnected with national and EU systems. The "ZEMIS Modernization (ERZ)" program is gradually updating the legacy landscape, which has grown since 2008, to a cloud-native architecture. Business domains are being segmented according to Domain Driven Design, coordinated via a SAFe Agile Release Train.
The assignment is within the "Meldeverfahren" product team, where existing JEE applications are being replaced by Spring-based microservices.
Responsibilities
- Continue and further develop existing architectural design: system architecture, interfaces, data storage, and data models
- Gather business requirements with the business domain using agile modeling (Event Storming, DDD, Bounded Contexts)
- Support the product team during implementation and go-live, including integrations, deployments (Kubernetes/OpenShift), and data migrations
- Design transition architectures from legacy JEE to Spring Boot microservices, ensuring backward compatibility of interfaces and data
- Coordinate with other product teams within the ART and adhere to architecture governance
- Support external suppliers with system design (detailed specifications) and review their designs against requirements and program architecture
- Be responsible for or contribute to HERMES and arc42 documentation
- Perform maintenance work on the existing architecture as needed

Of this, at least 3 years in projects with Spring as the primary backend. Projects with > 50% workload, > 12 months without interruption, and not older than 15 years.
