Lead Consultant - MCP Implementation / API Integration

Project overview

For an innovative technology project, we are looking for an experienced Lead Consultant / AI Solutions Architect with proven experience in implementing the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The focus is on connecting API-based industrial tools, software solutions, and devices via MCP.

The project is currently in the planning phase. We are therefore looking for a personality who can support both conception and architecture, and – depending on expertise – also actively participate in the technical implementation.

Another focus is on knowledge transfer and the professional enablement of the internal team.

Responsibilities

• Consulting on the conception and introduction of an MCP-based solution
• Development of a suitable MCP architecture for integrating API-based tools, software, and devices
• Technical conception and support of the MCP implementation
• Optional hands-on development and implementation
• Connection and provision of existing APIs via MCP
• Evaluation of technical requirements and possible integration approaches
• Support with architecture and technology decisions
• Professional guidance and training of the internal team
• Documentation of the developed solution and ensuring knowledge transfer

Requirements

Framework Conditions:

• Several years of experience in software development, system integration, or software architecture
• Proven practical experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol)
• At least one successfully completed MCP project in the environment of industrial tools, software solutions, or devices
• Very good experience with API-based integrations
• Very good knowledge of Python
• C++ knowledge is an advantage
• Experience in the technical conception and architecture of integration solutions
• Ability to provide both consulting and hands-on support
• Experience in professional guidance or training of development teams
• Senior/Lead level with independent and structured working style
• Start: ASAP
• Duration: Up to 6 months
• Workload: Part-time preferred
• Location: Remote
• Onsite: Kick-off on-site in Saxony
• Hourly rate: Depending on qualification and experience – please state your expected hourly rate
