Manufacturing Engineer Body-in-White Construction

Project overview

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for body-in-white construction at our location in Styria. The position is designed as hybrid.

Responsibilities

You will conduct feasibility studies on body-in-white components and evaluate data maturity, accessibility, and tolerances with regard to manufacturability. You will develop joining sequences and create fixture and manufacturing concepts. You will design and manage fixture hardware until realization and create manufacturing feasibility documentation. You will perform automated geo-checks and support dimensional analyses. Furthermore, you will coordinate technical requirements and solutions with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Requirements

You have completed vocational training or a degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, automation technology, or production technology. Practical experience in body-in-white construction, fixture design, or prototype construction is required. You are familiar with manufacturing processes such as resistance spot welding, laser welding, or stud welding. Very good CATIA V5 skills and experience with 3D viewers like JT are necessary. Sound knowledge of dimensional analysis, tolerances, and manufacturing feasibility complete your profile.

Knowledge of joining sequence planning and fixture concepts is important; experience with Siemens Tecnomatix Process Designer or Process Simulate is an advantage. Good German and English skills, both written and spoken, are required.
