Job description
Seeking experienced network technicians/administrators for a long-term project focused on modernizing and replacing existing network components, primarily Cisco switches. The role involves installation, migration, configuration, and documentation.
Project overview
For a long-term network project, we are looking for two experienced network technicians or network administrators (m/f/d) to support the modernization and replacement of existing network components. The focus is on carrying out lifecycle and refresh measures as well as installation, migration, and ideally configuration of network hardware.
Responsibilities
- Replacement and modernization of existing network components as part of lifecycle and refresh projects
- Planning and preparation of hardware migration based on CMDB data and manufacturer information
- Installation, assembly, and commissioning of new network hardware
- Configuration of network switches, ideally Cisco
- Execution of pre/post-checks, function tests, and technical acceptances
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
- Professional data deletion and preparation of replaced hardware for trade-in or disposal
Requirements

Framework Parameters:
- Practical experience in the replacement and installation of network components, especially switches
- Knowledge in the field of network administration and network infrastructure
- Ideally, experience in configuring Cisco switches
- Experience with network lifecycle or hardware refresh projects
- Knowledge of technical documentation and handling CMDB systems
- Basic understanding of network protocols and switching technologies
- CCNA certification an advantage, but not a requirement
- Independent and structured way of working
- Location: Salzgitter and/or Peine (on-site)
- Duration: Start December 2026 / January 2027, at least until the end of 2027 with an option to extend
- Utilization: 3-5 days per week
