Job description
Seeking a Power BI Consultant for a Proof of Concept (PoC) to evaluate migrating from MicroStrategy to Power BI. The role involves strategic and operational guidance for the client's future reporting landscape.
Project overview
For our client, we are looking for support in the area of Business Intelligence and Data Governance. The focus is on a Proof of Concept (PoC) for the planned migration from MicroStrategy to Power BI. The goal is to assess whether Power BI is the suitable BI platform for the future reporting landscape and to support the client strategically and operationally in this endeavor.
Responsibilities
Technological background:
- Consulting and execution of a Proof of Concept (PoC) for the migration from MicroStrategy to Power BI
- Analysis of the existing reporting landscape and assessment of migration feasibility
- Visualization of existing reports in Power BI
- Creation of dashboards based on approx. 15 KPIs and 15 dimensions
- Consulting on data modeling and best practices for performant operation
- Hands-on development and implementation in Power BI
- Identification of MicroStrategy-specific logic and transfer into a Power BI solution
- Collaboration with internal business and IT teams
- Consulting on possible alternatives if Power BI should not be the optimal solution
- Power BI (Must-have)
- MicroStrategy (advantageous)
- Data Warehouse (existing data basis)
- Data Modeling (Must-have)
- Databricks (Nice-to-have)

- Several years of experience with Power BI
- Experience in consulting and operational implementation of BI projects
- Ideally, experience with migrations from MicroStrategy to Power BI
- Good understanding of data modeling and performant reporting solutions
- Ability to analyze existing MicroStrategy logic and map it in Power BI
- Experience with Databricks is advantageous, as a connection to a Databricks-based Data Lake/Lakehouse architecture is planned for the future
- Very good German language skills
- Independent, consultative, and pragmatic working style
