Project overview

For a project in quality assurance, we are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector Composite (m/f/d).

The goal is the inspection of components and assemblies made of fiber composite materials for cabin interiors in civil aviation, with a focus on initial sampling and incoming goods inspection.

Due to the inspection-related activities on the component, continuous on-site presence near Heilbronn is required.

The Mertus Team

• Execution of initial sampling of composite assemblies and individual parts, including evaluation of supplier sampling documents and release decision
• Incoming goods inspection of components made of fiber composite materials, especially CFRP, GFRP, and sandwich components with honeycomb core, supplemented by components from other manufacturing processes such as injection molding
• Inspection according to drawing, specification, and test plan, including dimensional inspection as well as visual and surface inspection
• Evaluation of typical composite findings such as delamination, voids, fiber waviness, resin accumulations, and edge defects
• Control of accompanying documentation, including material certificates, batch traceability, curing and process protocols, as well as conformity certificates
• Documentation of all inspection results in the quality system and creation of associated inspection reports
• Complaint processing according to the defined process
• Participation in the optimization of test plans, measuring instruments, and test procedures for composite components
• Structured, careful, and independent way of working
• Sound experience in the quality inspection of fiber composite components (CFRP, GFRP, sandwich with honeycomb core)
• Confident evaluation of typical composite findings
• Experience in initial sampling including evaluation of sampling documents
• Confident reading and interpretation of drawings, specifications, and test plans
• Practical experience in dimensional inspection with common measuring instruments
• Knowledge in the inspection of material and conformity certificates
• Experience in handling deviations and complaint processes
• Ideally, experience in the civil aviation environment according to EN 9100
• Willingness for continuous on-site deployment near Heilbronn
