Quality / Test Engineer – Test Design

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Quality / Test Engineer with a focus on Test Design for a project in the railway sector. The position is advertised as a part-time project (200 days, 20 of which on-site) and offers flexible remote work with a location in Mainz.

Your main tasks include the creation and responsibility for test catalogs and test cases. You will analyze relevant project documents such as functional concepts, requirement specifications, and user stories to derive test designs. You will create test scenarios and cases based on the available requirements and identify necessary test data. Furthermore, you will conduct end-to-end tests, document test results and defects, and advise the client on test strategies and corrective measures.

We expect the following qualifications: at least 3 years of experience in test preparation and test execution, ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level, practical experience from at least 3 projects in collaboration with business departments and IT, as well as sound knowledge of test methods in agile and classic development processes. Very good German (C2 level) is required.

Experience in large, cross-application IT projects, excellent process and business understanding, as well as knowledge from the railway industry are advantageous. The project runs from 01.01.2027 to 31.12.2028.
