SAP PS Consultant (m/f/d) SAP PS Project Logistics Know-How Remote & Dortmund

Project overview

For our client in Dortmund, we are looking for an SAP PS Consultant (m/f/d) with SAP PS Project Logistics Know-How, starting immediately for an expected duration until March 2027 with the option for extension.

Project Goal:

The role is intended to independently manage defined work packages in the area of SAP PS project logistics, including integration with Engineering, MM, and SD, both functionally and operationally, thereby relieving the day-to-day business. This includes associated coordination meetings and follow-up until the agreed-upon result. Functional decisions and technical implementation will be coordinated with the respective responsible teams.

Decisive for the appointment is demonstrable experience in SAP PS project logistics and its cross-system and cross-module processes.

Responsibilities

• Design of logistical project planning and execution in SAP PS: project structures, WBS elements, networks, activities, and assigned material components.
• Conception and coordination of project-related material requirements and procurement processes – from requirement origination and procurement release through reservations and purchase requisitions to goods movements and project stocks.
• Integration with Engineering Systems: Functional conception of the transfer of project and product structures, material data, bills of materials, and relevant documents from Engineering/PLM systems to SAP. Clarification of data responsibility, object assignment, releases, and change processes, as well as the impact on project planning and procurement.
• SD Integration: Design of the interplay between customer orders and project structures, especially the assignment of order items to WBS elements, as well as the transitions to delivery, shipping, and billing. Coordination of milestones and billing-relevant project data with SD and Billing managers.
• Functional specification of the required interfaces and coordination of implementation with the Engineering, Integration, and Development teams.
• Preparation and execution of functional workshops and system reviews; evaluation of requirements against SAP standard and development of feasible solution proposals.
• Independent processing of associated requirements and tasks in SAP Cloud ALM, including documentation, coordination, and follow-up.
• Implementation or coordination of the required PS Customizing and project templates in coordination with the involved module managers.
• Preparation and execution of end-to-end tests from customer order through engineering and project procurement to delivery and handover for billing; analysis of errors and support of functional acceptance.

Requirements

Advantageous:

• Several years of practical consulting and implementation experience with SAP PS, preferably in SAP S/4HANA and in mechanical or plant engineering.
• Profound knowledge of the logistical functions of SAP PS, especially networks, material components, requirements transfer, external procurement, project stocks, and scheduling.
• Practical experience with PS/MM integration for project-related material planning and procurement.
• Practical experience with PS/SD integration, especially customer order relevance, WBS assignment, project-related delivery, and the connection of billing processes.
• Experience with the functional integration of Engineering/PLM systems into SAP, especially material and bill of materials transfers, structure assignment, and release and change processes.
• Ability to describe cross-system data flows and interface requirements and to implement and test them together with technical teams.
• Understanding of adjacent processes in PP and CO and their dependencies on project logistics.
• Ability to translate functional requirements into SAP processes, customizing, and concrete test cases and to independently demonstrate solutions in the system.
• Structured, self-responsible working style as well as confident moderation and coordination with business departments and other SAP teams.
• Good German and English language skills.
• Experience with SAP Cloud ALM and Fit-to-Standard methodology.
• Experience with COMOS or comparable engineering systems in plant construction.
• Experience with external logistics service providers and their integration into project-related process chains.
