Description

An internationally active trading company with its own manufacturing operations is currently consolidating all country organizations onto a common SAP S/4HANA template. To achieve this, a brownfield conversion and a rollout to another country organization in the DACH region are running in parallel. In the future, all manufacturing is to be mapped in SAP, with SAP standard processes taking precedence over custom solutions. Consulting support is sought for the PP module. Key focus areas include replacing the existing manufacturing solution in a mid-range ERP and expanding the current SAP manufacturing mapping.

The work ranges from analysis, conception, customizing, and migration to testing and go-live, in close coordination with key users and an ABAP offshore team.

Responsibilities

• Replacing manufacturing in the existing ERP of a country organization: Analyzing the processes mapped there for bills of materials, routings, production orders, confirmations, and costing; performing a fit-gap analysis against SAP standard; conception and customizing in S/4HANA PP; taking over manufacturing master data; and conducting tests and supporting go-live.
• Expanding the existing SAP manufacturing mapping to include previously missing processes, such as those for pipe and hose manufacturing and linear products, and aligning them with the template of the new country organization.
• Ensuring the integration of PP with MM, SD, CO, and EWM.
• Developing specifications for the ABAP team in the offshore model.
• Ongoing coordination with key users.

• Extensive practical experience (central) in SAP S/4HANA PP for discrete manufacturing, small series, and customer-specific manufacturing: bills of materials, routings, work centers, production orders, confirmations, and order completion.
• Extensive practical experience (central) with fit-gap analyses, blueprinting, and customizing in S/4HANA rollouts using the template approach.
• Solid experience in integrating PP with MM–SD–CO (costing, order settlement) and PP–EWM (production supply).
• Solid experience in migrating manufacturing master data (Migration Cockpit) and in replacing mid-range or legacy ERP systems.
• Experience in specifying enhancements for ABAP developers, as well as in creating test cases and supporting UAT.
• Experience with manufacturing processes in the machinery and plant engineering sector (assembly, pipe/hose manufacturing).
• Desirable: Knowledge of Sage, Swiss specificities (CHF, VAT), QM inspection protocols, experience with brownfield conversion.
• Fluent German (C2) as project language and English at C1 level for coordination.
