SAP S/4HANA Utilities Expert

Project overview

Our client is looking for support from an experienced SAP S/4HANA Utilities Expert (m/f/d) starting November 2026 for an ongoing transformation project in the energy industry.

The focus is on functional and technical support in the areas of MOSB, MeMi (Surplus/Shortage Billing), billing, and GridPro. An experienced resource is sought who is proficient in both energy industry processes and their mapping in SAP IS-U or SAP S/4HANA Utilities.

Responsibilities

• Functional and technical support in the MOSB (Meter Operation Service Billing) area
• Support with billing for meter operation services for modern metering devices and intelligent metering systems
• Support with contract and price mapping, quotation processes, as well as billing and invoicing in the SAP environment
• Functional and system-side support in the MeMi (Surplus/Shortage Billing) area
• Analysis and evaluation of processes for determining and billing surplus and shortages
• Analysis and further development of energy industry billing processes
• Evaluation of existing tariff structures and their mapping in the SAP environment
• Support in the GridPro / SAP best practice billing environment
• Support in implementing standardized SAP billing master data and best practice processes
• Support with various billing scenarios in the Utilities environment
• Participation in requirements analysis and evaluation of impacts on existing processes and systems
• Coordination with the business department, IT, and other project participants
• Support with testing, functional quality assurance, and knowledge transfer

Requirements

Framework:

• Several years of project experience with SAP IS-U or SAP S/4HANA Utilities
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA transformation projects in the Utilities environment
• Profound experience with MOSB
• Profound knowledge of surplus/shortage billing (MeMi)
• Very good knowledge of energy industry billing and invoicing processes
• Experience with contract, price, and tariff structures in the SAP Utilities environment
• Experience with complex billing scenarios
• Ideally, experience with GridPro
• Experience with standardized SAP billing master data and best practice processes
• Ability to systematically analyze functional requirements and evaluate them from a system perspective
• Experience in collaboration between the business department and IT
• Very good German language skills
