Freelance Project | 6 Months | Baden-Baden / Heilbronn | 90% Remote

For a company based in Baden-Württemberg, we are looking for an experienced SAP TM Consultant (m/f/d) to support a demanding Transportation Management project. The focus is on analyzing and further developing existing SAP TM processes, as well as preparing technical concepts and development specifications. We are looking for a consultant who understands both the functional and technical aspects of SAP TM and acts as an interface between business departments and ABAP development. The project is initially planned for six months and offers a high degree of flexibility with a 90% remote component.

Your Role in the Project

Investigating existing SAP TM workflows and developing the desired future system behavior.

Translating business requirements into concrete, technically implementable development specifications.

Developing concepts for system enhancements, particularly in connection with BADIs and User Exits.

Analyzing and interpreting existing ABAP programs to evaluate current functionalities.

Functional and technical coordination with involved SAP consultants, developers, and business departments.

Structured recording and maintenance of project documentation in Confluence.

Supporting operational project management and task tracking via Jira.

Optional responsibility for individual sub-projects, depending on experience.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

At least five years of relevant professional experience in the SAP environment.

In-depth knowledge of SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM).

Practical experience in the conception and creation of development specifications.

Solid technical understanding of SAP enhancement options, especially BADIs and User Exits.

Ability to read, understand, and functionally classify existing ABAP code.

Very good German language skills for communication within the project.

Advantageous, but not a requirement:

Experience in functional or operational sub-project management.

Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.

Note: Programming skills at a developer level are not required. Independent ABAP development is not part of the tasks. The focus is on creating precise specifications, based on which the developers can implement the desired adjustments.

On-site locations: Baden-Baden and Heilbronn

Working method: Predominantly remote with targeted in-person coordination meetings.

Project language: German

Onboarding: Professional support and accompanying coaching possible.

During the initial conception phase, individual consecutive on-site assignments are planned to coordinate requirements with project stakeholders. In the further course of the project, approximately 1-2 travel days per month are expected for coordination. The specific deployment plan will be agreed upon jointly.
