Security Consultant

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Security Consultant on a freelance basis with a focus on Platform Engineering and Developer Experience. The focus is on the conception and independent implementation of a secure internal development platform for isolated network zones as part of a pilot project.

Responsibilities

Conception and setup of a secure internal development platform for isolated zones

Provision of standardized, reproducible development environments including offline-capable updates

Implementation of self-service offerings for on-demand provisioned development and test environments

Setup of test data management with anonymization, synthetic data, and clear separation of development, test, and production environments

Securing developer workstations and source code access

Integration of developer portal, source code management, and monitoring

Gathering requirements and supporting development teams in introduction and change processes

Requirements

You have 6 years of experience in each of the following areas:

Platform Engineering and Developer Experience with responsibility for development platforms

Setup of standardized, reproducible development environments including offline-capable updates

Provision of self-service development and test environments

Test data management: anonymization, synthetic data, and separation of Dev, Test, and Prod

Securing developer workstations and source code access in isolated zones

Working with the technology and tool areas listed below

Requirements gathering, introduction support, and change management with development teams

Development Environments: Dev Containers, Coder, Eclipse Che, Nix, virtual workstations

Developer Portal & Provisioning: Backstage, Argo CD, Crossplane, Terraform

Source Code Management: GitLab, Forgejo/Gitea, Bitbucket Data Center

Test Data Management: PostgreSQL Anonymizer, Datanymizer, Faker

Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana
