AWS Cloud Engineer / ASAP / 3 Months+ / Remote

Scope

We are looking for temporary support for our client, an AWS partner, in the further development, security, and optimization of the existing AWS cloud landscape in their respective client projects, with a focus on Cloud Security, AWS Landing Zone, and Cloud Engineering.

The freelancer will support the internal cloud team with architectural topics, technical implementations, and the establishment of best practices for secure and scalable AWS operations. Candidates who are open to subsequent employment are preferred.

Responsibilities

Skills

• Further development and optimization of the AWS Landing Zone
• Analysis and improvement of existing cloud security concepts and security policies
• Implementation of security best practices in AWS environments
• Design and optimization of IAM structures, authorization models, and access concepts
• Support with network and security architectures (e.g., segmentation, policies, controls)
• Implementation and optimization of governance and compliance requirements
• Consultation on technical architecture decisions in the AWS environment
• Support with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Analysis of existing AWS resources regarding security, stability, and efficiency
• Creation of technical documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams

Requirements

• Several years of experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer, Cloud Architect, or comparable role
• Very good knowledge of AWS Cloud Services and architecture principles
• Experience with AWS Landing Zone concepts and Cloud Governance
• Profound knowledge in the area of Cloud Security
• Experience with IAM, security policies, network architectures, and security standards
• Experience in optimizing and securing existing AWS environments

Nice to have

• Knowledge in the area of TrendAI or AI/Machine Learning workloads in the cloud
• Experience with building secure AI and data platforms on AWS
• Knowledge in DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty)
