Senior Claim Manager (m/f) Piping and Plant Engineering, Food and Process Industry

Project overview

For a renowned client in the food and process industry, we are urgently seeking an experienced, operationally active Claim Manager (m/f) to strengthen an ongoing plant engineering project in industrial piping.

We are explicitly looking for a non-purely administrative Claim Manager, but rather a personality who actively integrates into the project team, independently identifies deviations, and cleanly prepares, notifies, and negotiates claims together with the specialist departments. The individual claims typically range from €0.5 to €3 million.

Work methodology in the project: Identify deviation, document, check contractual basis, notify within deadline, assess time and cost implications, create and track claim or addendum, and negotiate.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluation of contracts, contract appendices, technical specifications, and performance specifications
• Comparison of contractual TARGET and actual STATUS, demarcation of services owed from changed or additional services
• Early identification of claim, addendum, change, and hindrance situations
• Creation and tracking of contract notifications, hindrance notifications, addendum notifications, change requests, and claims
• Analysis of schedule plans, construction process disruptions, and delays, evaluation of construction time extensions (EOT) and additional costs
• Evaluation of project correspondence, minutes, daily construction reports, and engineering documents as a basis for evidence
• Setup and maintenance of a claim and change register, including deadlines and status tracking
• Preparation and support of claim, addendum, and contract negotiations
• Close collaboration with project management, site management, engineering, scheduling, commercial, and legal departments

• Demonstrable experience in industrial piping and plant engineering
• Operational experience in claim, contract, and addendum management, ideally with claims in the range of €0.5 to €3 million
• Sound understanding of construction and plant engineering contracts
• Confident use of schedule plans and TARGET/ACTUAL analyses, MS Project or Primavera P6 advantageous
• Experience in EPC or EPCM projects advantageous
• Fluent German and English, especially independent English contract and claim correspondence
