Project overview
For a long-term IT project in the public sector, we are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with a Cloud focus. The focus is on the stable operation of a complex application in a cloud platform as well as the automation of deployment, monitoring, and operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and operation of microservices, REST interfaces, and other application components
- Analysis of technical errors together with support, infrastructure, architecture, and development
- Further development and automation of CI/CD pipelines
- Support of container virtualization within the cloud platform
- Creation and versioning of deployment templates with Helm
- Configuration of ingress, routing, secrets, permissions, and network rules
- Setup and further development of monitoring, health checks, alerting, and metrics
- Optimization of logging and error handling
- Maintenance of operational and configuration documentation

- At least 5 years of experience in support, operation, or development within software projects
- Experience with service-oriented and cloud-native architectures
- DevOps or development experience with Kubernetes, REST, OAuth 2.0, XML, and JSON
- Knowledge of Kubernetes clusters
- Experience with Helm Charts
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially Jenkins and Tekton
- Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch
- Experience with tracing, e.g., OpenTelemetry
- Knowledge of KNative Eventing and SQL
- Very good analytical, conceptual, and communication skills

- Location: predominantly remote, with on-site appointments in Nuremberg if required
