Senior GL Accountant Project No. 5199

Project overview

For a customer project in the Aachen area, we are urgently seeking an experienced Senior GL Accountant (m/f/d) to support ongoing accounting.

Responsibilities

• Execution and booking of payroll journals
• Processing of regular payments and bank transactions
• Preparation and support with VAT, Intrastat, and EC sales list reports
• Execution of further statutory or regulatory reports
• Creation and booking of accruals, especially for suppliers and payroll
• Fixed Assets Accounting
• Support with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Execution of General Ledger reconciliations
• Reconciliation of balance sheet and P&L accounts
• Execution of flux and variance analyses
• Processing of intercompany cross-charges
• Coordination of accruals with international group companies
• Support with the preparation of annual financial statements according to HGB
• Assistance with audits and statutory audits
• Review of employee travel expense reports
• Participation in process optimizations in accounting

Requirements

• Several years of experience in General Ledger Accounting
• Experience in international accounting according to IFRS and/or US GAAP
• Very good knowledge of HGB
• Good knowledge of the German VAT and tax environment
• Experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Experience with balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
• Very good Excel skills, especially: Pivot tables, Lookups, processing large amounts of data
• Very good German language skills
• Very good English language skills

Project Background

A current team member is going on parental leave. For a structured handover, an onboarding and handover phase of approximately one month is planned. The focus is on operational day-to-day business in General Ledger Accounting as well as support with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
