Project overview

For a long-term project with one of our clients, we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Microsoft SQL Server Specialist / DBA (m/f/d) with in-depth experience in operating highly available and standardized database environments.

Project Framework

Responsibilities

• Operation, administration, and optimization of complex Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Support and further development of SQL Server 2019-2025
• Administration of highly available database environments with Always On Availability Groups
• Support of Windows Clustering environments
• Automation of recurring operational and administrative processes using PowerShell
• Conception, implementation, and optimization of backup and recovery strategies
• Analysis and optimization of database performance as well as query tuning
• Support in ITIL-based operations as well as incident and problem management
• Participation in agreed-upon on-call duties
• Creation and maintenance of operational, system, and process documentation as well as support for operational handovers
• Implementation and adherence to security and hardening specifications
• Participation in highly standardized and multi-tenant capable operating environments

• Several years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA / Administrator, ideally at a senior level
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2019-2025
• In-depth experience with Always On Availability Groups
• Very good knowledge of Windows Clustering
• Experience in PowerShell automation and automated platform operations
• In-depth knowledge of Backup & Recovery
• Very good experience in performance and query tuning
• Experience with ITIL-based operational processes
• Experience in incident and problem management as well as willingness to participate in on-call duties
• Experience with structured operational handovers and technical documentation
• Knowledge of BSI basic protection and ISO 27001
• Experience with highly standardized operating processes, multi-tenancy, hardening specifications, and audit-proof documentation
• Very good German language skills

Onsite: approx. 1-2 days per month in Berlin
