Project overview
For a company in the EdTech and software sector, we are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer with a focus on AWS Serverless, agent-driven development, TypeScript/Node.js, DynamoDB, and internal developer platforms.
We are looking for a hybrid expert from software development and infrastructure engineering who builds internal developer platforms and enables product teams to efficiently develop, deploy, and operate services. The focus is on practical engineering work, AI-supported development, and pragmatic decisions between in-house development and external procurement.
Responsibilities
- Building and improving an internal developer platform and developer tooling
- Design and implementation of AWS Serverless architectures with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Event Streaming
- Practical development with TypeScript and Node.js combined with infrastructure engineering
- Development of self-service solutions and automations to improve the developer experience
- Evaluation of existing platform tools and well-founded build-vs-buy decisions
- AI-supported development with modern code assistants
- Modernization and migration of existing services to AWS
- Close collaboration with product teams with end-to-end responsibility
Requirements
- Several years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Software Engineer, or Backend Engineer with strong practical development and infrastructure skills
- Proven experience in building internal developer platforms or developer tooling
- Strong, current practical experience with TypeScript, Node.js, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, and Serverless
- Deep experience in independently designing AWS Serverless architectures
- Experience in startups and larger organizations with end-to-end ownership
- Daily practical use of AI assistants for software development
- Strong understanding of the developer tooling landscape
- Knowledge in AWS Security, IAM, Networking, and Infrastructure as Code
