Senior Security Manager / Cybersecurity Consultant (m/f/d) | Freelance

For a long-term project, we are looking for a Senior Security Manager / Cybersecurity Consultant (m/f/d) to holistically support several projects or project teams in the area of IT security.

The focus is on managing the complete cybersecurity lifecycle, from initial risk analysis and definition of security requirements through security concepts and the implementation of suitable measures to testing and operational security management.

Responsibilities

• Conducting and further developing threat & risk analyses
• Deriving and coordinating security requirements
• Creating and further developing security concepts
• Evaluating and tracking security measures and residual risks
• Support with security verification & validation
• Defining and specifying the scope for penetration tests as well as interface to pentest teams
• Supporting security topics in the supplier/service provider environment
• Support with secure implementation
• Participation in vulnerability & incident management, including definition of suitable escalation paths
• Evaluating security-relevant impacts of technical or functional changes
• Independent coordination with project management, technical teams, and relevant stakeholders

• Several years of senior experience in security management / cybersecurity consulting
• Experience with structured security processes in larger corporate or group structures
• Very good knowledge of risk assessments / threat & risk analysis
• Experience with security requirements and security concepts
• Experience in security testing / penetration testing
• Knowledge of vulnerability and incident management
• Experience in managing multiple parallel projects or project teams
• Independent and structured way of working with strong stakeholder communication
• Reliable project references in the field of cybersecurity / security management
• Start: expected January 2027
• Duration: initially approx. 12 months, option for extension
• Utilization: ideally full-time, at least approx. 50%
• Work model: Remote/on-site portion by arrangement
• Contract type: Freelance / Service contract
• Project environment: long-term, complex security environment with multiple parallel projects
