Job description
Develop and optimize high-performance, real-time processing components for sensor and measurement data using C# / .NET. Design parallel, lock-free architectures for large in-memory datasets and integrate native libraries.
Project overview
Key Data
- Start: Immediately, by arrangement
- Duration: 6 months, extension possible
- Workload: Full-time
- Location: Baden-Württemberg, hybrid with approx. 60% remote
Responsibilities
What You Bring
- You will develop and optimize fast, near-real-time processing components for sensor and measurement data in modern C# / .NET.
- You will design parallel, as lock-free as possible architectures for large amounts of data in memory.
- You will use zero-allocation patterns, such as Span, ArrayPool, stackalloc, or the Pinned Object Heap, to avoid GC load.
- You will connect drivers and native C/C++ libraries via interop (P/Invoke, blittable types, pinning).
- You will analyze deadlocks, latency spikes, and hardware specifics down to the CPU, memory, and IL level.
- You will bring modern engineering practices (Clean Architecture, TDD, automated tests) into an international Scrum team.
- Many years of senior experience in C# and current .NET, with a focus on performance, system programming, or hardware-related software
- Good understanding of the CLR memory model
- Confident handling of Span, ReadOnlySpan, Memory, ArrayPool, and NativeMemory
- Sound knowledge of hardware-level concurrency (lock-free, Interlocked/CAS, memory barriers, false sharing)
- Demonstrable experience with managed/unmanaged interop, marshaling, and unsafe code
- Experience with profiling and diagnostics
- Projects in hardware-related or data-intensive areas (measurement technology, sensor technology, machine vision, medical technology, high throughput)
- Fluent English
