Software Developer C/C++ "COR-Life" (Insurance, Mannheim)

Project overview

We, emagine GmbH, are looking for an experienced C/C++ developer (m/f/d) for our Business Unit Insurance with sound experience in implementing and further developing business processes in life insurance administration systems, to implement technical implementations, extensions, and stabilizations of business processes, contract changes, services, and batch processes on time.

Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of business processes and process logic in the life insurance administration system (COR-Life) (C/C++)
• Further development and maintenance of web services (client & server) for connecting internal and external systems
• Development, adaptation, and optimization of batch processes for contract processing in life insurance
• Functional analysis and technical implementation of requirements from the life insurance department
• Preparation and execution of technical analyses, debugging, and error correction
• Close cooperation and coordination with the business department, architects, and the development team
• Support throughout the entire development process: Conception -> Implementation -> Test -> Go-live

Requirements

• Several years of experience (3-5 years) in software development with C/C++
• Experience in developing business processes in complex life insurance administration systems
• Good knowledge of SQL and Oracle database technology
• Knowledge of version control with Git and build management under Windows & Linux
• High analytical competence and a solid understanding of complex process logic
• Ability to technically implement requirements from the business department in a structured manner
• Experience in coordination with business departments and technical documentation
• Analytical, structured work approach and a good logical understanding of complex issues
• High level of initiative and interest in independently and responsibly implementing tasks, including independently learning the existing life system
• Team player with a high degree of social competence and communication skills
• Experience in actively participating in projects, including coordination with business departments

Nice to have

Framework Conditions

• Knowledge of the COR-Life system environment or comparable life insurance administration systems
• Knowledge of adjacent technologies (Java, batch frameworks, shell scripts) and tools (Jira, VisualStudio, Eclipse)
• Experience with web service technologies (SOAP/REST) in the insurance sector
• Experience in life insurance industry projects
