Job description
The IT department of a leading research institution seeks a WAN Consolidation Specialist to redesign the WAN environment, migrate to the NOC standard model, revise firewall rules, and commission network devices.
Responsibilities
- Redesign and consolidation of the WAN environment and migration to the NOC standard model
- Planning, configuration, and commissioning of routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN devices
- Revision of firewall policies and VPN remote access
- Analysis of network traffic, ensuring compliance requirements and other policies, such as ISO27001
- Creation of a migration plan
- Carrying out modifications and cabling together with the IT operations team

- University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable qualification
- Sound knowledge of the OpenOTP solution from RCDevs
- Profound expertise in Cisco Enterprise Networks
- Significant Cisco ASA Firewall and Firepower Services project experience
- Palo Alto Firewall and Panorama Management project experience is required
- Ideally CCIE / ENCOR Routing and Switching certification
- Solution-oriented work style with a lot of initiative and a friendly demeanor
- Very good German language skills
