SQL Server / C# .NET Developer – Databases, Interfaces & Reporting

Project overview

For a demanding IT project, we are looking for an experienced freelancer to support the further development, programming, and maintenance of an existing Microsoft-based system landscape.

The focus is on the programming and support of SQL Server databases, the development and maintenance of interfaces between different applications, and the expansion of the existing reporting landscape.

In addition to technical implementation, the freelancer will support the existing team in daily operations, continuously develop existing solutions, and contribute their own ideas for optimization and the future direction of the system landscape.

Responsibilities

Development, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server databases

Programming and support of interfaces between different applications and database systems

Development and maintenance of SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and other database-related functions

Analysis and optimization of the interaction between different databases and applications

Support and further development of existing software solutions based on C# and .NET

Conception, creation, and further development of reports using Microsoft Reporting Tools, ideally SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

Further development of an existing, in-house developed data warehouse database

Analysis and preparation of data for reporting and analysis purposes, including with Power BI and Excel

Support in the development and maintenance of API interfaces

Participation in the programming and further development of applications, if applicable

Support of daily operations as well as identification and implementation of technical improvements

Consulting on the further development and future direction of the existing IT system landscape

Requirements

Several years of practical experience in Microsoft SQL Server development and support

Very good knowledge of SQL, especially in developing and optimizing complex queries

Sound experience with stored procedures, triggers, and database-related programming

Experience in the development and support of interfaces between different applications and databases

Good knowledge of C# and .NET as well as experience with existing software applications

Experience with Microsoft Reporting Tools, ideally SSRS, as well as in creating and maintaining reports

Knowledge in the area of data warehousing and relational database architectures

Experience with REST APIs or comparable interface technologies is an advantage

Knowledge of Power BI and Excel for data analysis and evaluation is desirable

Analytical and structured way of working as well as a good understanding of complex system interrelationships

Independent, solution-oriented way of working and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with existing systems

Very good German language skills and good English language skills

Willingness to be fully on-site in Hamburg
