Project overview
The Friedrichstadt-Palast: A Stage for Your Career
Welcome to the Friedrichstadt-Palast, Berlin's number 1 stage! We are not only a cornerstone of Berlin's culture but also a home for creative minds and technical masters of their craft. Here, first-class entertainment and diversity are the stage of everyday life.
Your Future at the Palast
The Palast's stage history dates back to 1919 with the Grosses Schauspielhaus. Our three founders Max Reinhardt, Erik Charell, and Hans Poelzig later suffered under the Nazi dictatorship because they were of Jewish descent, homosexual, or their architectural language was considered degenerate. In the Third Reich, we were the largest National Socialist propaganda theater. Until 1990, the Palast was the showcase entertainment theater of the GDR.
Against this background, we consciously stand for diversity, freedom, and democracy today. Democracy is far from perfect, but it is the only form of government that allows majorities and minorities their freedoms.
