Technical Project Manager SAP / S/4HANA Rollout

Project overview

For one of our clients, we are looking for a "Technical Project Manager SAP / S/4HANA Rollout (m/f/d)".

As part of an S/4HANA brownfield rollout, we are connecting our local unit to the standardized corporate template and completely replacing existing legacy systems (Work4All, FileMaker). As Technical Project Manager (m/f/d), you will manage external implementation partners and ensure holistic data migration and system integration until Go-Live in July 2027.

Skills

Must-Haves:

• Utilization: approx. 50%
• Mainz / Remote (individual and flexible division possible)
• Partner & Project Management: Operational management of external SAP service providers, plausibility checks of deliverables, effort estimations and change requests (scope, budget, quality) as well as milestone and risk tracking together with internal project management.
• Corporate Interface: Technical coordination with the central IT of the parent company to comply with architecture, template, and governance requirements.
• Data Migration (ETL): End-to-end management of migration from Work4All and FileMaker to S/4HANA – from cleansing, data architecture, and field mappings to mock migrations and the final cutover.
• Cross-Module Integration: Ensuring smooth process and data flow across core modules MM, WM-HUM, PP, SD, and FI to avoid interface breaks between logistics and finance.
• Testing & Go-Live: Planning and tracking of all test phases (SIT, UAT), technical defect management towards partners, and development of robust cutover and emergency/rollback scenarios.
• Project Management Experience: Several years of demonstrable success as a Technical Project Manager or Integration Manager in complex SAP projects (preferably brownfield or rollout scenarios).
• S/4HANA & Corporate Know-how: Sound understanding of S/4HANA architectures and solid experience in projects where existing corporate templates were adapted.
• Process & Module Knowledge: Comprehensive interface and integration competence in modules MM, WM-HUM, PP, SD, and FI.
• Migration Experience: Practical experience in migration projects involving data transfer from non-SAP source systems (experience with Work4All or FileMaker is a strong plus).
• Provider Management: Assertive, confident management of external IT service providers and software implementers.
• Language Skills:
• German: Business fluent
• English: Business fluent
• Mobility: Willingness for planned on-site assignments at the Mainz location (e.g., for project kick-offs, integration workshops, test phases, and during Go-Live).

Nice to have

Soft Skills & Personality

• French language skills: Good knowledge (B1/B2) is an advantage
• Specific migration experience with Work4All (ERP) or relational databases based on FileMaker.
• Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Scrum Master) or SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Activate).
• Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on mentality.
• High diplomatic competence in the conflict between local business, external service provider, and parent company.
• Structured, transparent working method and precise reporting to management
