Project Scheduler | Primavera P6 | Hydrogen Major Project

For a significant hydrogen/energy plant project in Northern Germany, we are seeking an experienced freelance Senior Project Scheduler with very good Primavera P6 skills on short notice.

The project has already started and is increasingly transitioning from the Engineering and Procurement phases into the Construction phase. Initial activities for site setup and ramp-up are already underway.

The existing integrated schedule currently comprises approximately 900-1,000 activities and will be further developed and detailed, particularly for Construction, Piping, and subsequent commissioning.

Scope of Services

Takeover and continuation of the existing Primavera P6 project schedule

Regular status updates and schedule revisions

Integration and coordination of scheduling for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction

Schedule tracking of outstanding procurement processes and technical components

Planning and progress tracking of the piping scope

Coordination with involved technical disciplines and project management

Identification and analysis of the Critical Path

Analysis of schedule deviations and their impact on downstream activities

Development and evaluation of recovery and acceleration measures

Increasing detail for Construction activities

Schedule support for the upcoming Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning phase

Creation of reliable forecasts and schedule status reports for project control

Project Environment

You will support a technically demanding major project in hydrogen plant construction with extensive interfaces between Engineering, Procurement, and the construction site.

A significant focus is on the piping sector. In addition to manufacturing and procurement topics, installation, completion, cleaning of piping systems, and preparation for commissioning will be relevant in the further course of the project.

The schedule is therefore no longer in an early conceptual phase. We are looking for an expert who can independently take over an existing schedule and develop it further into detailed construction execution.

Required Expertise

Requirements

Several years of experience as a Senior Project Scheduler or Planning Engineer

Very good practical knowledge of Primavera P6

Experience in complex EPC/EPCM or plant construction projects

Experience with schedule interfaces between Engineering, Procurement, and Construction

Proficient handling of extensive, integrated project schedules

Experience with Progress Measurement, Forecasting, and Critical Path analyses

Particularly interesting are experiences from:

Chemical / Petrochemical

Refineries

Power plant construction

Energy plants

Process plant construction

Hydrogen plants

Knowledge in the area of piping/pipeline construction and construction scheduling is a distinct advantage.

Previous work in a hydrogen or electrolyzer project is not a mandatory requirement.

Project details

Short notice / upon availability

40 hours/week

Perspective: Long-term project, currently planned until at least the end of 2027, with potential for extension

Region: Initially Western Germany, with increased site presence in Northern Germany during the project's progression

Work Model: Combination of onsite and remote

Onsite: Approximately 2-3 days per week on average

During intensive construction phases, higher site presence may be temporarily required

Software: Primavera P6, existing central project environment
