XML-/XSLT Developer

Responsibilities

• Data Transformation: Development of complex XSLT stylesheets to efficiently convert structured XML raw data into XSL-FO format
• Layout Design: Implementation of design specifications by creating and continuously adapting XSL-FO templates for precise PDF layouts
• Dynamic Graphics: Generation and integration of dynamic SVG vector graphics (e.g., barcodes, simple diagrams, icons) directly during the XSLT transformation process
• Quality Assurance: Ensuring layout specifications in the final PDF when rendering with Apache FOP
• Maintenance: Optimization and bug fixing of existing templates for data changes or new requirements

Requirements

My advantages:

• Profound XML knowledge: In-depth understanding of XML, XPath, and XML Schema (XSD)
• Expert knowledge in XSLT & XSL-FO: Solid practical experience in transforming XML data and designing XSL-FO layouts
• Experience with SVG: Good knowledge in code-based creation of SVG graphics for dynamic embedding
• Apache FOP: Confident handling of Apache FOP as a rendering engine for automated PDF generation
• Java environment: Basic or good knowledge of Java to understand the integration of Apache FOP into our application landscape
• Project experience in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban), as well as in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Experience in conducting and evaluating regression tests to ensure reliable and stable report generation.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks and interest in using them for the creation and further development of HTML reports
