z/OS System Engineer

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced z/OS System Engineer to support our IT operations. You will be responsible for the stable, secure, and performant operation of our z/OS system landscape as well as its continuous development.

Your tasks include the planning, coordination, and implementation of system maintenance, release changes, and change measures throughout the entire lifecycle. You will analyze complex disturbances and system errors, develop sustainable solutions, and actively contribute to the further development of the system and Sysplex architecture. Furthermore, you will identify automation and optimization potential to increase operational efficiency.

After successful training, you will participate in the on-call service, including incident analysis and troubleshooting outside of regular working hours.

We expect sound practical experience in the z/OS environment as well as a strong understanding of complex IT systems. Proficient knowledge of TSO/ISPF and JCL, experience in the administration and operation of z/OS systems, and the ability to analyze and evaluate system messages are required. Initial knowledge in system maintenance, SMP/E, USS, or Sysplex is advantageous.

We value a high affinity for automation, continuous knowledge transfer, and taking responsibility. Knowledge of Linux on IBM Z, OpenShift, or Ansible is desirable.
