AI Platform Engineer

Project overview

As an AI Engineer, you will build, test, and manage the technical components that make AI applicable within the organization.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Implement AI services, agents, retrieval solutions, and API integrations
• Develop reusable components for model access, prompting, context management, evaluation, logging, cost tracking, and error handling
• Set up automated test and evaluation sets for quality, reliability, security, performance, and cost
• Apply CI/CD and MLOps/LLMOps practices for version control, deployment, configuration, monitoring, and rollback
• Technically support sandboxes and proofs of concept
• Make AI solutions production-ready according to applicable architecture, security, and governance conditions
• Support data and platform teams with privacy-secure test data, data streams, and connections to existing systems
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and examples for reuse by other teams
• Analyze operational issues and implement improvements based on logs, evaluations, feedback, and usage data
• Preferably 5-8 years of experience as a software engineer, platform engineer, ML engineer, or in a comparable hands-on engineering role
• Good command of programming languages, preferably Python and Java
• Practical experience with APIs, authentication, container technology, and automated tests
• Applied knowledge of LLMs, embeddings, retrieval, agents, model APIs, and methods for evaluating models
• Work experience with CI/CD, Git, infrastructure as code, observability, and cloud or container platforms
• Eye for security, privacy, documentation, and reliable business operations
• Knowledge of the public sector, G-Cloud, or an OISZ context is a plus
• Command of Dutch, English, and French
