Application / DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) - on prem environement

Project overview

For an international client, we are looking for an experienced Application / DevOps Engineer (m/f/d). The role focuses on application support and DevOps activities in a secure, on-premises environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and cleanup of application components
• Support certificate requests and TLS/SSL certificate management
• Assist with Identity and Access Management topics
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, including reporting, logging updates, debugging, automation, and deployments
• Improve integration testing for applications
• Execute database setups and optimizations
• Drive Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift-related activities such as migrations, signatures, and documentation
• Support security and compliance tasks, including threat models, penetration scans, security header scans, and SBOM-related activities
• Improve infrastructure and networking topics such as API setup, VM decommissioning, firewall configurations, and repository cleanup
• Contribute to efforts to improve efficiency through AI-supported solutions

Requirements

• More than 3 years of experience in Dev/Ops and application support
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm charts, ArgoCD, GitOps, Jenkins, and version control concepts
• Knowledge of TLS/SSL certificate management
• Experience with shell scripting and software deployment strategies
• Familiarity with database handling, e.g. MS-SQL, MySQL, or SQLite, is an advantage
• Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, Jira, and MS Office
• Quality mindset and security awareness are a plus
• Analytical thinking, teamwork, proactive attitude, problem-solving skills, and a reliable independent working style
• Experience in secure, on-premises environments and with application support in complex setups
• Fluent English is required; German is a plus
