Expert COBOL Mainframe Z/OS - Development & Tests

Project overview

We are continuing our development and are recruiting an Expert COBOL Mainframe Z/OS – Development / Tests for one of our clients located in Marseille.

You will be involved in a mainframe information system modernization project.

Mission:

Integrated into a technical and operational team, you will be involved in an IDMS to DB2 migration and ADSO to COBOL/CICS conversion project. You will primarily focus on the ADSO to CICS conversion, with a strong emphasis on analyzing, debugging, and correcting complex COBOL code generated by internal conversion tools.

Your missions will be as follows:

The mission requires strong technical expertise in a mainframe environment, with the ability to quickly intervene on complex code.

An evolution towards development activities is possible after the project, with a perspective of longer-term collaboration.

• Define the testing strategy with the project team
• Participate in setting up the MVS/Z/OS test environment and datasets with the client
• Adapt or create the necessary JCL for test execution and file comparison automation
• Execute test scenarios and compare results before and after migration
• Analyze discrepancies, debug the converted COBOL code, and identify the source of malfunctions
• Correct or specify the corrections to be made to the code and the rules of the internal converters
• Write the technical specifications for necessary developments
• Ensure monitoring and reporting of the progress of tests and work carried out
• Support the client's technical teams in understanding and integrating the converted code
