Hybrid Data Architect & Modern Platforms (Azure Cloud & On-Premise)

Project overview

Join a major infrastructure and mobility group within its Digital and Transformation Department. As part of the overall overhaul of its historical decision-making assets (legacy SAP BI / BODS / BO) towards a modern and hybrid ecosystem, you will act as a transverse referent to design, urbanize, and industrialize data foundations by business domain, while addressing local hosting challenges for sensitive data.

Service Conditions:

• Strategy, Urban Planning & Business Scoping
• Define the target Data architecture (Azure Cloud / On-Premise S3) and formalize the transformation roadmap (master plan, migration trajectory).
• Map the existing environment (flows, sources, legacy decision-making applications) and audit technical debt.
• Conduct benchmarks, POCs, and arbitration studies (Build vs Buy, Cloud vs On-Premise, FinOps sizing).
• Scope the creation of business-oriented data foundations (Lakehouse / Data Mesh approaches).
• Technical Design & Modeling
• Write the logical and physical Technical Architecture Documents (DAT).
• Define ingestion, transformation, and exposure patterns (Batch, Streaming, API).
• Oversee data modeling (MCD/MLD/MPD), master data management (MDM), and storage layer structuring.
• Optimize end-to-end performance: from storage (partitioning, distribution) to the Dataviz restitution layer.
• Governance, Security & Compliance
• Establish development, naming, and documentation standards.
• Structure governance: data catalog, traceability (lineage), metadata repository, and quality rules.
• Ensure security and compliance: authorization management (RBAC), encryption, secrets management, GDPR / DPIA rules, and sensitive data anonymization.
• Industrialization, DevOps & Operations
• Lay the CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Azure DevOps) foundations.
• Define supervision, operational monitoring strategies, and business continuity / disaster recovery plans (BCP/DRP).
• Experience: Confirmed / senior profile in Data Architecture, with proven experience in hybrid environments and in a results-based commitment / fixed-price context.
• Technical Environment & Tools:
• Cloud & Hybrid: Microsoft Azure (ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks), S3-compatible On-Premise object storage.
• Legacy & Transition: Knowledge of SAP BI / BODS / BO environments to orchestrate migration.
• Processing & Modeling: SQL, Python, Spark / PySpark, Spark SQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server.
• Dataviz: In-depth expertise in Power BI (Power BI Service/Desktop, DAX optimization, Power Query/M).
• DevOps & Automation: Terraform, Git, Azure DevOps, YAML, Bash, scheduling (e.g., OpCon).
• Interpersonal Skills: Consulting posture, technical leadership, excellent communication with various stakeholders (Business Analysts, Developers, Operations, Business Units).
• Status: Service provision / contracting (full-time).
• Location: South Île-de-France (94), with occasional travel to North Île-de-France (95).
• Remote Work: Hybrid mode (3 days on-site / 2 days remote).
• Duration: Long-term mission, initial firm period of 4 months, renewable in 6-month tranches.
