Interim Plant Director

Project overview

Interim Search has been entrusted to appoint a business-oriented, confident, and operational Interim Plant Director for a leading international manufacturer in the process industry. The company is part of a well-established European industrial group, and the facility in West Sweden employs approximately 600 employees with around-the-clock production. The operation is characterized by high employee engagement, while the site faces important development steps and an upcoming business system change.

The role reports to the Site Director/General Manager and has overall responsibility for the plant's operational management, as well as being part of a management team consisting of 10 direct reports in production, engineering, maintenance, and logistics.

About the process

The assignment is full-time, located at the plant in West Sweden. You are expected to be on site 5 days a week. The assignment is expected to start in December, at the latest in January, and is estimated to last for 9 months.

We will present candidates on November 9th, and interviews with the client will take place on November 10th and November 12th.

• Drive and optimize daily manufacturing and ensure delivery precision, quality, and safety across shifts.
• Lead, coach, and support 10 directly reporting managers.
• Ensure present and involved leadership throughout the production organization.
• Maintain close, trusting, and constructive cooperation with union representatives.
• Manage and anchor production during the ongoing preparation and commissioning of a new SAP system.
• Drive active HSE work with a particular focus on safety culture and the interaction between humans and machines in a machine-intensive manufacturing environment.
• You have solid experience as a factory manager, production manager, or Plant Manager within heavy manufacturing process industry.
• You have documented experience leading other managers.
• You have successfully held operational responsibility for large manufacturing organizations (300+ employees).
• You are a confident, stable, and unpretentious leader with the ability to build trust in an independent plant environment where collaboration and involvement are central.
• Industry experience from cable manufacturing or heavy machinery density is a strong merit.
• Practical experience with SAP and leading a production operation through an ERP shift is a merit.
• You communicate fluently in Swedish and English.
