IT Windows Application Architect

Project overview

IT application architecture mission, for a major player in the defense and electronics sector, based in Massy with occasional travel to other group sites. Start date planned for January 2027 (exact day to be confirmed).

The application architect will be involved in the design of technical solutions for France and international scopes, ensuring the coherence of the information system, its availability, security, and scalability, in compliance with internal standards.

On a daily basis, the consultant will be responsible for:

The technical environment relies in particular on Windows / Windows Server, VMware, SQL Server, IIS, Active Directory, as well as network security and access management components. Standard or special requirement environments may be involved.

Expected deliverables include HLD/LLD documents, technical reports, and a monthly activity report. Good command of English (C1 level) is necessary, as technical documentation must be produced in French and English.

Work organization: 3 days on-site in Massy and 2 days of remote work per week.

The position is for a senior profile capable of designing, challenging, and ensuring the overall coherence of architectures, with a deep mastery of the core business and good knowledge of peripheral technologies rather than simultaneous operational expertise across the entire stack.

• Analyzing SI urban planning files, security files, and functional requirements
• Designing 2-tier, 3-tier, or thick client architectures
• Defining and justifying the choice of physical, virtual, and middleware components
• Specifying VMware requirements (number and versions of servers)
• Defining backup, storage, supervision, and SLM strategies, as well as scheduling
• Designing network security architecture (segmentation, flows, protocols)
• Managing IAM, authentication, access, and directory issues
• Managing licensing aspects
• Coordinating business, infrastructure, cloud, network, and storage teams
• Supporting the transition to operations
• Writing HLD/LLD documents and technical reports
• Participating in daily and weekly follow-ups and quarterly steering committees
• Producing monthly activity reports
• Mastery of application architecture and business applications (design, justification of technical choices)
• Good knowledge of DICT
