This is how you contribute!

As an experienced permit officer for the Environmental Act, you will assess and process applications for environmental permits. From the renovation of a house to an initiative in the historic city center: you will carefully bring together the rules, the environment, and the interests. You will test plans against the environmental plan and relevant laws and regulations. You will not only look at what is possible according to the rules but also think in terms of possibilities. You will weigh interests, discuss points of attention with applicants and advisors, and work towards a careful and legally sound decision.

The work in Gorinchem is particularly varied. The historic fortress, the water, the New Dutch Waterline, and the development of homes and businesses present diverse issues. How do you make space for new developments and initiatives while preserving the heritage and character of the city? This requires careful consideration and makes the work challenging and substantively interesting. With your knowledge and experience, you contribute to a liveable city, where there is room for development and the character of Gorinchem is preserved.

What will you do?

Team Gorinchem

You will join a committed team within Urban Development, where a good atmosphere and collegiality are highly valued. We work closely together, help each other move forward, and easily drop by each other's desks.

You will work daily with three other permit officers and two supervisors, with support from our legal experts. Communication lines are short, and there is ample room to discuss applications, exchange knowledge, and find solutions together.

3 months - 36 hours per week - 1 FTE

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Assess and process applications for environmental permits.
• Test plans against the environmental plan and relevant laws and regulations.
• Carefully weigh rules, environment, and different interests.
• Discuss points of attention with applicants and advisors.
• Work towards careful and legally sound decisions.
• Independently and proactively handle applications and monitor the process.
• Collaborate with residents, colleagues, and external partners.
• Contribute to feasible solutions, while preserving the heritage and character of Gorinchem.
• HBO work and thinking level, obtained through education and/or experience;
• A completed AWB 1 and ABW 2 training;
• At least four years of relevant work experience with permit granting within the physical living environment;
• Basic knowledge of structural engineering;
• Experience with power browser.
