The municipality of Stein has about 24,500 inhabitants and consists of various cores, each with its own character. Stein is known for its strategic location on the Maas river and its historical character with cozy village centers. The municipality is an important logistics hub due to its proximity to industry, waterways, and highways.

Like many other municipalities, the municipality faces major challenges. Consider the ever-increasing number of elderly people. Digitization. Or the transition from old ways of heating homes to new sustainable methods. To name a few. The tasks facing municipalities are not only complex but also closely intertwined.

• Assessing and advising on spatial initiatives based on laws and regulations, the environmental plan, the environmental vision, and municipal policy.
• Guiding and monitoring environmental plan procedures and complex BOPA (Building and Demolition Permit) procedures, in collaboration with the Permits cluster.
• Developing spatial issues and advising on spatial developments within the municipality.
• Drafting college and council proposals.
• Participating in the intake meeting and contributing to an integrated assessment of spatial initiatives.
• Conducting consultations with initiators, developers, residents, and other stakeholders.
• Weighing different interests and representing the interests of the municipality of Stein.
• Independently handling and coordinating spatial files and procedures.
• Strong analytical and advisory skills.
• Administrative and political sensitivity and knowledge of municipal decision-making.
• Environmental awareness and an understanding of different interests.
• Ability to collaborate integrally and multidisciplinarily within the physical domain.
• Good process skills, particularly regarding environmental plan and BOPA procedures.
• Competitive fixed salary, depending on knowledge and experience;
