Background

Making the Netherlands safer and keeping it safe. That is where you want to contribute. You see the possibilities of new IT technology to achieve this goal. You also understand that new technology should not come at any cost. The privacy of innocent citizens must of course be guaranteed, and the use of AI must fit within ethical and legal frameworks. The goal of your new team is to deploy capacity more effectively and efficiently in monitoring and security through the application of state-of-the-art solutions in computer vision.

Your work will ensure that deviant patterns can be detected faster and better to combat subversive crime. You will join a running team that has developed various computer vision applications. This team is in transition from R&D to production, and you are a key figure in this.

Your team falls under the DevOps department of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. DevOps is organizationally part of the Information & Technology Directorate, within cluster IV of the CKMar staff. Within DevOps, work is done on various applications in the field of AI (computer vision and language models), robotics, and 3D printing. Want to know more about working in the DevOps section? On-call services: No

• Analyzes operational needs to identify new opportunities
• In collaboration with the project leader and coordinator, sets priorities in product development and manages the strategic roadmap of the product. The results are:
• Delivery and updating of a supported strategic product vision.
• Delivery and management of an up-to-date strategic product roadmap with set priorities for product development. In agreement with the project leader and coordinator.
• Delivery of periodic progress reports on the execution of the roadmap.
• Monitors, together with the engineers, the quality of the CI/CD pipeline and any room for improvement in the development process
• Manages the backlog of new features and product releases
• Ensures that the product delivers maximum value to the operational user, and acts as the first point of contact for those users
• Communicates with internal and external partners/colleagues about potential collaboration, and provides visual communication materials (presentations, videos, demos)
• Stays informed about market trends
• Seeks collaboration with relevant other projects/labs within the DevOps section, with a strong focus on technical integration and mutual positioning
• Build, edit, and maintain the team backlog
• Define, prioritize, and validate software requirements through User Stories
• Establish criteria for story acceptance and baseline stories
• Generate iteration goals and iteration content
• Collaborate with teams to define and implement improvement stories to enhance speed and quality
• Participate in team demonstrations and retrospectives
• Working at Defense/KMar
• Hands-on development and deployment of computer vision technology

This assignment is based on the European e-Competence Framework (e-CF). This is a European standard for describing IT competencies and the associated level of responsibility. The eCF profile indicates which competencies and at what level (e-1 to e-5) are expected from the candidate. We expect candidates to clearly demonstrate in their CV that they possess these competencies. This can be done by describing for each relevant assignment or position:
