Your role
As Product Owner Data & Analysis, you are responsible for directing and realizing data and information products that contribute to the organization's objectives. You form the connecting link between the organization, users, and the Data & Analysis team. You ensure that available capacity is deployed on the topics that deliver the most value and that it is clear which results will be realized and when.
Your activities include:
The Product Owner works result-oriented: not the amount of work completed is central, but the value delivered to the organization through data and analysis.
- Translating organizational goals into concrete data and analysis products. You gather needs from stakeholders and translate them into concrete products and results.
- Developing and managing the product vision and roadmap. Together with stakeholders, you determine the desired development of data and analysis products and translate this into a realistic roadmap.
- Prioritizing the product backlog. You weigh wishes, innovations, organizational tasks, maintenance activities, and available capacity against each other and determine priorities based on this. You also ensure that the backlog is well managed.
- Directing daily product development. You formulate clear assignments and acceptance criteria for the data and analysis team and monitor the progress, coherence, and quality of realization.
- Connecting business and data & analysis. You ensure that user needs and organizational objectives are well understood by the team and that technical possibilities and limitations are understandably translated to clients and stakeholders.
- Organizing collaboration and decision-making. You bring together the right stakeholders, make dependencies visible, and ensure that decisions about scope, priorities, and solution directions are made in a timely manner.
- Monitoring coherence in the data chain. You collaborate with advisors, data brokers, architecture, information provision, and other product teams to ensure that data is available timely, reliably, and usable.
- Steering on value and usage. You monitor whether realized data and analysis products are actually used and contribute to the intended goals. Based on user feedback and available insights, you adjust where necessary. To this end, you maintain the product catalog together with the advisors.
- Monitoring quality, continuity, and manageability. You pay attention to aspects such as data quality, information security, privacy, availability, performance, and management throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Identifying and utilizing new opportunities. You follow developments in the field of data, analytics, and AI and investigate with the organization how these developments can contribute to better service delivery, more efficient execution, and better decision-making.
- Reporting on progress and results. You make visible which results have been achieved, which activities are planned, which risks and dependencies exist, and where decision-making or adjustments are needed. You work closely with data analysts, BI specialists, DWH developers, data and analysis advisors, architects, information professionals, and representatives from the business. You create the conditions under which the Data & Analysis team can work independently and ensure focus on the agreed product goals.
Requirements
As Product Owner Data & Analysis, you possess a combination of strategic insight, organizational sensitivity, and the ability to achieve concrete results. You are able to connect different interests and bring focus and priority to an environment where the demand for data and analysis is greater than the available capacity. You can separate the essential from the non-essential and translate organizational objectives into concrete data and information products. You are confident and can connect and communicate well in a challenging stakeholder field. You are customer-oriented and possess good communication skills.
To succeed as a Product Owner Data & Analysis, you can lead a team of data specialists and are decisive. You have the ambition to continuously improve and collaborate with your colleagues.
