Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Project overview

As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will collaborate with other engineers on an Azure platform for reliable data storage and access. From your expertise in Azure Networking, you will help the team with technical choices and with further professionalizing and automating the platform.

You will take technical ownership and help colleagues grow. You will also work closely with data and business teams to translate their needs into suitable platform products and services.

• A completed HBO or WO education.
• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable work experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer in an Azure environment.
• Extensive experience with Azure Networking, including Private Link/Private Endpoints, VNets, Subnets, NSGs, hub-spoke architecture, and Azure DNS.
• Experience with Terraform, YAML Pipelines, Azure DevOps, and Git.
• Basic knowledge of Azure infrastructure, including Web Apps, Function Apps, Storage Accounts, and Key Vaults.
• Excellent oral and written command of the Dutch language.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to switch between technical specialists and the business.
• You enjoy sharing knowledge and coaching colleagues.
• Experience with Databricks, including Unity Catalog, Serverless Compute, and RBAC.
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric/Power BI.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with API Management.
• Experience with a Zero Trust security strategy.
• An enthusiastic, flexible, open, and positive attitude, focused on collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Minimum completed HBO or WO education
• You have at least 5 years of demonstrable work experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer in an Azure environment
• You have extensive experience with Azure Networking, including Private Link/Private Endpoints, VNets, Subnets, NSGs, hub-spoke architecture, and Azure DNS
• You have experience with Terraform, YAML Pipelines, Azure DevOps, and Git
• You have basic knowledge of Azure infrastructure, including Web Apps, Function Apps, Storage Accounts, and Key Vaults
• You have an excellent command (both oral and written) of the Dutch language
• You agree to a background check after award (Certificate of Conduct, confidentiality agreement, integrity statement, and questionnaire). The documents for this check must be submitted before the start of the assignment so that screening can be done in a timely manner.
• You agree to take out the necessary professional and business liability insurance. More information about the insured amounts can be found in the sample contracts under 'my settings'.
• You have not been employed by NS in the past two years through a fixed-term or permanent employment contract
• You have work experience at a similar organization to NS (at least 5000+ workplaces) is a plus
• You have experience with Databricks, including Unity Catalog, Serverless Compute, and RBAC
