Jobbeschreibung

RET is seeking 2 FTE Senior Data Engineers to join their Data Office team. This role involves developing and managing the CREDO data and analytics platform, currently migrating to Microsoft Fabric, and delivering data products.

Project overview

RET is looking for 2 FTE Senior Data Engineers. Freelancers ARE ALLOWED

About the assignment

The Data Office team is part of the IT Services department at RET. The team unlocks and processes data from various data sources and makes it available for analysis. Additionally, the team is responsible for the development and management of CREDO, RET's central data and analytics platform. CREDO is based on a lakehouse architecture in Microsoft Azure, with a medallion structure and Delta Lake. The team works closely with data analysts, data stewards, and other stakeholders to transform raw data into data products that contribute to business objectives.

Within the Data Community, best practices, standards, and architectural principles are safeguarded. Data governance, quality, security, and a well-functioning data chain are central to this. RET is currently undergoing a migration to Microsoft Fabric. The roadmap includes performance optimization, data quality, monitoring, and cost control. The organization strives for a secure, smart, and responsible way of working based on metadata-driven principles.

The role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play an important role in the further development of RET as a data-driven organization. You will work on both the delivery of data products and the further development and management of the CREDO platform. You will develop scalable and efficient data pipelines and contribute to data-driven processes within various business domains, including Asset Management, HR, and Finance. You are responsible for unlocking, processing, and dimensionally modeling structured and unstructured data sources.

You will use cloud-native solutions and automated data quality controls within Microsoft Fabric. You will work in an agile environment with other data engineers, the Lead Data Platform Engineer, Solution Architect, data analysts, and stakeholders from the business. In addition to technical realization, you will actively contribute to architecture discussions, knowledge sharing, and the further professionalization of the Data Office.

Result of the assignment

By the end of the assignment, you will have contributed to the further development of the operational CREDO data platform by realizing one or more agreed-upon roadmap components. The deliverables include, but are not limited to:
