Senior Technical ServiceNow Consultant / Developer – CMDB & CSDM

Project overview

For an organization, we are looking for an experienced Technical ServiceNow Consultant / Developer with a strong specialization in CMDB and CSDM.

You are responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing ServiceNow solutions, with an emphasis on a reliable CMDB, a consistent implementation of CSDM, and realizing integrations.

You translate complex technical and functional issues into scalable, maintainable, and future-proof solutions and work closely with architects, administrators, process owners, and infrastructure teams.

A stable and future-proof ServiceNow platform with a reliable CMDB, a consistent CSDM implementation, and improved insight into applications, services, infrastructure, and their interdependencies.

Selection criterion: Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Development, CMDB, and CSDM is essential. Practical experience weighs more heavily than certifications.

For this assignment, a screening is required which can take an average of 6-8 weeks. After screening, Defense and Kyndryl onboarding will follow. The start date is therefore an indication and cannot be guaranteed, as it depends on the aforementioned processes. In addition, you must possess a Dutch passport and have a good command of the Dutch language.

• Developing, configuring, and optimizing ServiceNow functionality.
• Setting up and improving the CMDB, including CI classes, attributes, relationships, and data quality.
• Implementing and further developing the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
• Realizing integrations for collecting, classifying, and processing configuration data.
• Developing scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, and flows.
• Monitoring development standards, platform governance, reusability, and upgradeability.
• Advising stakeholders, guiding developers, and performing code reviews.
• Several years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer or Technical Consultant at a senior level.
• In-depth knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, its architecture, APIs, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer, and Scheduled Jobs.
• Knowledge of ACLs, roles, update sets, application scope, testing, and deployments.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience with CMDB and CSDM, including CI classes, data models, relationships, and CSDM domains.
• Experience with Import Sets, Transform Maps, Data Reconciliation, and integrations for configuration data.
• Experience with complex ServiceNow implementations and Agile/Scrum.
• Knowledge of HAM Pro and SAM Pro.
• ServiceNow CSA and CAD.
• Relevant CIS certifications, for example, ITSM or ITOM Discovery.
• Additional certification or training in CMDB and CSDM.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently create and realize technical designs.
• Good communication skills towards technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive and focused on standardization, automation, and data quality.
• Experience with coaching and knowledge transfer.
