Assignment Description:

The assignment focuses on developing and improving UX/UI designs for student-focused digital interactions within VU University.

The work consists of:

The assignment aims to improve the digital user experience for prospective students within VU University's student intake processes.

The assignment should lead to the following results:

Competencies:

• Developing UX and UI concepts for landing pages, registration forms, and other student-focused digital interactions.
• Analyzing existing user flows and identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Setting up and conducting user research and translating findings into design proposals.
• Developing coherent user journeys, interaction patterns, and information architecture for the intake chain.
• Developing designs and prototypes in Figma, adhering to the VU house style, UX guidelines, and the existing Design System. This also includes contributing to the Design System.
• Advising on strategic choices regarding online interaction and the further development of digital student journeys.
• Documenting design choices and associated documentation so that front-end development can start without delay.
• Acting as a subject matter expert for UX and advising stakeholders on design choices and priorities.
• Advising on the positioning, coherence, and future-proofing of UX within the digital landscape of VU University.
• Transferring UX/UI knowledge and expertise to the existing VU UX team through coaching and support.
• A set of developed UX/UI designs for priority student intake processes, including landing pages and registration forms.
• Documented user journeys and interaction designs that provide insight into the desired user experience for prospective students.
• A substantiated advisory report with recommendations for the further development of online student interaction within VU University.
• Documented designs in Figma, including a handover to front-end development with associated descriptions, components, and guidelines.
• A contribution to the VU Design System, with concrete starting points and strategic building blocks for the further development of digital channels focused on student recruitment and intake.
• Extensive and relevant experience within the UX/UI domain, including experience in a senior or leading role.
• Experience in developing landing pages and other conversion-focused pages and funnels.
• Experience in gathering and analyzing stakeholder requirements within a complex organization.
• Experience working within existing house styles, Design Systems, and UX guidelines.
• Strategic insight and the ability to formulate and substantiate a future-oriented vision.
• A portfolio with relevant reference cases.
• Knowledge of and experience with Figma.
• Physical presence on location on Wednesdays is a plus.
• Ability to think solution-oriented and to involve others in suitable solutions for both the short and long term.
• Ability to work independently and proactively, gathering necessary information and managing coordination and communication about one's own work.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to find a good balance between customer focus and substantive professionalism.
• Ability to work in a structured manner and to clearly and understandably communicate results to project colleagues and managers.
• Ability to flexibly handle various topics and possess strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to involve different target groups in proposed solutions.
