Solaris Administrator - 6 months | London, UK - Inside IR35

We are looking for an experienced Solaris Administrator to support and maintain Oracle Solaris 10 and 11 environments, including Legacy applications, for a leading technology services organisation. The role is office-based in London, 5 days per week on the customer's site, on a 6-month contract.

Responsibilities

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• Administer, maintain and support Oracle Solaris 10 and 11 environments
• Provision, migrate and troubleshoot Solaris Zones (global and non-global)
• Install, configure, patch, upgrade and harden Solaris servers
• Monitor performance, capacity and availability, and resolve OS-level incidents and problems
• Manage filesystems, storage, users, backups and system recovery
• Support Legacy applications on Solaris and work with application teams on deployments
• Maintain documentation, SOPs and runbooks
• Join the on-call rota and help resolve major incidents
• Strong hands-on Oracle Solaris 10 and 11 experience
• Solaris Zones, ZFS, SMF, Solaris networking and boot prompts
• OS troubleshooting, performance tuning, patch management and system security
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments
• ITIL processes: incident, change and problem management
• Shell Scripting (KSH/Bash) (advantageous)
• Legacy infrastructure experience (desirable)
• Storage, backup and virtualisation exposure (desirable)
