System Architect Data Platform Services (interim)

Project overview

The architect develops and monitors the data platform based on Azure Databricks, collaborating with DevOps teams on both technical and strategic levels.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Drafting and maintaining the system architecture for the Azure Databricks platform, including standards for governance, security, and integration
• Designing platform functionalities for analytics, machine learning, and AI
• Advising on provisions for data quality, metadata management, data catalogs, lineage, and compliance
• Contributing to a strategic vision for platform services aligned with organizational goals
• Translating enterprise and domain architecture into concrete solution and system architectures, and establishing and monitoring architectural principles, standards, and non-functional requirements
• Supporting technical design choices and conducting architecture reviews in projects and agile teams
• Liaising with enterprise and security architects, suppliers, and other stakeholders
• Contributing to the roadmap for data platforms, data exchange, and digital service provision
• Ensuring privacy, security, and compliance within architectures, such as GDPR and BIO
• Promoting knowledge sharing and architectural maturity within the teams
• Fluent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
• Demonstrable working and thinking level at HBO/WO (University of Applied Sciences/University) level
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Architect, Data Architect, Solution Architect, or in a comparable architectural role
• At least 2 years of experience gained within complex (semi-)governmental organizations
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud in complex IT or data environments
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Databricks within data and analytics platforms
• Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) within data and analytics platforms
• Practical experience with platform development, automation, and Infrastructure as Code in cloud environments
• Knowledge of and experience with information security, privacy, and compliance, including BIO, GDPR, and ISO 27001
• Experience with architectural methodologies and modeling techniques such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or NORA
