Test lead/manager

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Lead/Manager for a long-term project in the aviation industry to join our TITANS team.

Project requirements

• defining and continuously updating the test strategy and overall quality approach across software projects
• planning, coordinating, and overseeing testing activities throughout the entire software development lifecycle
• leading, supporting, and developing the QA/Test team, including capacity planning and resource allocation
• preparing test plans, defining test scope, effort estimations, priorities, and acceptance and exit criteria for releases
• coordinating functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing, including test automation
• managing the defect lifecycle, including classification, prioritization, coordination of resolution, and escalation
• monitoring and reporting on testing progress, quality KPIs, risks, and open defects to relevant stakeholders
• evaluating quality and risks before releasing a release and providing input for deployment decisions
• collaborating with development teams to analyze recurring defects, identify their root causes, and propose preventive measures
• developing test automation and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• continuously optimizing testing processes, methodologies, standards, and tools used
• collaborating with Development, Product Management, and Project Management teams to set common quality goals
• occasional business trips to international clients, approximately 2-4 times a year, for several days
• collaboration takes place in a combined On-site (Bratislava) / Remote mode (upon agreement, ideally 50/50)
• min. 5 years of project experience in software testing and QA, including min. 2 years in the position of Test Manager, QA Lead, or a similar leadership role
• experience with creating test strategy (including test automation strategy), test plans, scenarios, and test cases
• practical knowledge of SW testing methodology and SW development methodology (TDD & BDD)
• knowledge of agile software development methodologies (SAFe, SCRUM, LEAN, and/or KANBAN)
• knowledge of the English language at a conversational level (written and spoken)
• experience with:
• planning, coordinating, and executing functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing
• leading, coordinating, and developing QA/Test teams
• working in an Agile environment and collaborating with development, product, and project teams
• test management and defect tracking tools, e.g., Jira, Xray, Zephyr, TestRail, or Azure DevOps
• test automation tools and frameworks, e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Robot Framework
• API testing using Postman, SoapUI/ReadyAPI, or Swagger/OpenAPI
• CI/CD environments, Git, and automated test pipelines
• advantageous experience with:
• testing software in a regulated or safety-critical environment, e.g., aviation, ATM, railway transport, automotive, healthcare, or defense industry
• setting up requirement traceability processes and test evidence recording in a regulated environment
• ISTQB certification is an advantage
