2 Software Developer – ERP System Synon (RPG)

About the Position For our expanding retail company, we are looking for an experienced Software Developer (m/f/d) for our central merchandise management system based on Synon (CA 2E) on IBM i (AS/400) as soon as possible. In this role, you will ensure that our central trade and logistics processes run smoothly and are continuously adapted to new market and customer requirements.

What You Bring

Languages: Very good German skills in speaking and writing (min. B2/C1) and English

• Further Development & Maintenance: Support, optimization, and further development of our existing merchandise management and logistics modules with Synon (CA 2E) and RPG/RPGLE.
• Process Analysis: Analysis of business concepts in the areas of purchasing, sales, warehousing, and logistics, as well as their technical implementation.
• Error Analysis & Support: Systematic troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of disruptions in daily operations (2nd/3rd Level Support).
• Interface Connection: Development and maintenance of interfaces to modern subsystems (e.g., e-commerce, WMS, EDI, CRM).
• Documentation: Creation of technical documentation and development standards.
• Professional Experience: Sound knowledge in application development on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.
• Technology Stack: Demonstrable experience with the Synon / CA 2E generation tool and very good knowledge of RPG III, RPG IV (ILE RPG), and CL/CLLE.
• Retail Understanding: Experience with typical core processes in a retail or logistics company (order processing, warehouse management, invoicing) is an advantage.
• Methodological Competence: Structured and self-reliant way of working, as well as a high awareness of quality.
