Experienced freelance civil engineering and route planning specialist needed for a challenging infrastructure project in the energy sector. The role involves technical planning, coordination, and preparation/execution of planning services.
Project overview
For a demanding infrastructure project in the energy sector, we are looking for an experienced freelance specialist (m/f/d) in civil engineering and route planning. You will support the project team in technical planning, coordination of involved disciplines, and the preparation and execution of the required planning services.
Your tasks in the project
What you bring with you
- Professional support of external planning partners and coordination with adjacent trades and departments, including environment, land rights, soil investigations, unexploded ordnance disposal, and archaeology
- Development of suitable route alignments from rough planning to detailed elaboration of the execution plan
- Technical support during the realization phase, as well as processing and documentation of necessary planning changes
- Review of planning results for technical quality and completeness, as well as definition of suitable quality standards and testing processes
- Organization and moderation of planning meetings with authorities, public institutions, and other project stakeholders
- Elaboration of the required planning documents for the planning approval procedure according to § 21 NABEG
- Creation of technical service descriptions and tender documents, as well as support in selecting and commissioning suitable service providers
- Contribution to the management of quality, costs, deadlines, and project risks, as well as support in complying with relevant HSE requirements
- Technical evaluation and further development of the route alignment, considering construction site logistics, cable laying, and electrical engineering requirements in cooperation with the involved planners and suppliers
- Completed degree in engineering, preferably civil engineering, or a qualification as a construction technician with at least five years of relevant experience in route planning
- Several years of experience in planning linear infrastructure projects, for example in power plant construction, railway and road construction, pipeline construction, or comparable industrial sectors
- At least two years of practical project experience in the infrastructure sector
- German language skills at least at C1 level, as well as good English skills (B2) for technical and project-related communication
- Valid and unrestricted work permit for the EU
- Knowledge of energy industry regulations and technical standards; experience with the requirements of § 21 NABEG is a plus
- Ideally, experience in planning high-voltage cable systems for AC and DC applications from 320 kV, as well as in detailed and execution planning
- Good user skills in MS Office; experience with MS Project, iTWO, SAP, and common project management systems is advantageous
