Freelance PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer (m/f/d) – Langenfeld

We are looking for an experienced freelance PLC programmer / automation engineer (m/f/d) for our client in Langenfeld to develop and implement control concepts as well as to support international project deployments.

• Development and implementation of control concepts for automated production facilities
• Programming, adaptation, and optimization of PLC controls with Siemens Simatic S7 TIA Portal
• Analysis and optimization of control engineering and production engineering processes
• Support during commissioning and technical support of systems
• Carrying out international project deployments with limited travel duration
• Technical coordination with clients and project participants
• Completed degree in electrical engineering, training as a state-certified technician (m/f/d), or comparable qualification
• Experience in the development of control concepts
• Good knowledge of PLC programming with Siemens Simatic S7 TIA Portal
• Knowledge of Simatic S7 Classic or other PLC systems is an advantage
• Good understanding of production engineering processes and quick comprehension
• Very good German skills and English skills at least at level B2
• Knowledge of other foreign languages is an advantage
• Willingness to travel worldwide for short-term assignments (approx. 50% of working time)
• Strong communication skills, independent working style, and high customer orientation
• Driving license class B
• Start: December 2026
• Duration: 6 months with option for extension
• Workload: By arrangement
• Location: Langenfeld, with worldwide project deployments (approx. 50% travel)
